Baseball Recap: Genoa Area Triumphs

Genoa Area's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Start Spartans. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Comets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Genoa Area picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Start, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 8-4-1 record.

Coming up, Genoa Area will welcome Oak Harbor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Start, they will head out to face off against Woodward at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Polar Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
