Basketball Recap: Moffat County Wins Going Away Against Battle Mountain

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Moffat County came out on top. They enjoyed a cozy 49-35 victory over the Battle Mountain Huskies on Tuesday.

Mena Tucker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Caitlyn Adams was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Battle Mountain's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sage Gwin, who posted four points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Gwin a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Kovacik, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Moffat County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Battle Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Moffat County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-27 win against Steamboat Springs on the 14th. As for Battle Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-27 defeat against Glenwood Springs on the 13th.
