Basketball Recap: Austin Printy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crofton over Edgewood

Crofton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 52-43 to the Edgewood Rams. While losing is never fun, Crofton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Edgewood is ranked 94th).

Crofton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Austin Printy, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yamiel Colon Trenche, who posted nine points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Crofton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Crofton's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Edgewood, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Crofton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-46 defeat against Fallston on the 30th. As for Edgewood, they will square off against Carver A&T on January 6th.
