Thompson faced Grafton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tommies fell just short of the Spoilers by a score of 2-1. The Tommies' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Grafton found their leader in sophomore Anna Bjorneby, who had nine digs and two aces.

Thompson's loss dropped their record down to 13-2-1. As for Grafton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8-2.

Thompson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Northern Cass on the 7th. As for Grafton, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Carrington on the 4th.
