Softball Game Preview: Hardee Wildcats vs. Manatee Hurricanes

Hardee is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Manatee a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Hardee Wildcats will be playing at home against the Manatee Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Thursday, Hardee came up short against Port Charlotte and fell 4-1.

Hardee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marti Edenfield, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Edenfield a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Manatee lost 9-1 to Palmetto on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Hurricanes have lost by exactly eight runs.

Hardee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Manatee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Hardee took their win against Manatee when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2. Does Hardee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Manatee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
