Football Recap: Wekiva Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wekiva lost against West Orange back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs came up short against the Warriors, falling 38-14. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Warriors are ranked 45th).

A big part of West Orange's win came down to the chemistry between Andrew Chung and his top target Yuto Kawamura-Johnson. Chung threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt while Kawamura-Johnson picked up 102 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those four passing touchdowns gave Chung a new career-high.

Wekiva's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Orange, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Wekiva has already played their next contest, a 52-0 loss against Horizon on the 5th. As for West Orange, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-21 victory against Titusville on the 5th.
