If Antonito wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sangre de Cristo, they should've done a better job of containing Haylee Freel. The Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Antonito Trojans 66-16 for which the team can thank Freel, who posted 22 points. She is becoming a predictor of Sangre de Cristo's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is undefeated (and 2-12 when she doesn't).

Despite the loss, Antonito still got an impressive performance from Destanaya Quintana, who scored nine points and eight boards.

Sangre de Cristo's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Antonito, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Sangre de Cristo has already played their next contest, a 47-24 loss against Trinidad on the 21st. As for Antonito, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-24 defeat against Creede on the 22nd.
