Soccer Game Preview: Weslaco East vs. Porter

The Weslaco East Wildcats will square off against the Porter Cowboys at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Weslaco East unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Nixon on Monday, falling 5-0. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Porter kept a clean sheet against McAllen on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Bulldogs.

Weslaco East came up short against Porter in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Weslaco East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
