ConVal and Sanborn Regional are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

ConVal fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Stark on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 4-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

ConVal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gus Hatmaker, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another was Evan Aho, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Sanborn Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Oyster River, falling 19-0.

ConVal beat Sanborn Regional 10-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
