Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Piper's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Piper ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Olympic Heights Lions 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bengals have posted since February 11th.

Joel Arroyo was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Oscar Muniz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Piper has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. Olympic Heights dropped their record down to 0-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Piper will face off against Cypress Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Olympic Heights, they will host American Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
