Basketball Recap: Bolton Academy Takes a Loss

Bolton Academy lost against Northwood two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bolton Academy Bears were beaten by the Northwood Gators 53-19. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Gators are ranked 149th).

Northwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahari Mccoy out in front who posted 23 points in addition to six boards and six steals. That's the most points Mccoy has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Tinsley, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 boards.

Bolton Academy dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Northwood, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Bolton Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Grand Lake at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Northwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-44 loss against Montgomery on the 19th.
