Baseball Recap: Portola's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Portola ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Irvine Vaqueros, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 21st.

Portola got a great performance from Yoshi Tsuge as he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits.

At the plate, Cooper Marinelli was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs. Portola is 3-1 when Marinelli posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

With the win, Portola broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12. As for Irvine, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
