Baseball Recap: Deerfield Comes Up Short

Deerfield suffered their closest loss since April 23rd on Monday. They fell just short of the Vernon Hills Cougars by a score of 3-1. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Deerfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-19 record this season. As for Vernon Hills, their record now sits at 10-21-1.

Coincidentally, Deerfield and Vernon Hills will both be playing Grant Community the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, while the Warriors will host them at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
