Softball Recap: St. John's Comes Up Short

St. John's tournament run continued when they took on Harlingen on Saturday. The Mavericks fell 6-2 to the Cardinals.

St. John's saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emi Gumpel, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double was Gumpel's first of the season.

St. John's now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Harlingen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2-1.

St. John's wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-7 loss against Fort Bend Christian Academy on the 24th. As for Harlingen, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against La Joya on the 24th.
