Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Dewey's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Dewey lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pawhuska, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Bulldoggers were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Huskies on Friday. Considering the Bulldoggers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Snellgrove looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Dewey got a big performance out of Chase Miller, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Miller a new career-high. Easton Davis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Dewey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pawhuska only posted an OBP of .382.

Dewey has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Pawhuska, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Coming up, Dewey will square off against Lincoln Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pawhuska, they will head out to take on Ripley at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
