Silsbee took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Vidor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Silsbee sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over Vidor on Friday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 16-2 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Silsbee is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. Vidor's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Silsbee will square off against rival Lumberton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Vidor is set to take on their familiar foe Jasper at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
