Volleyball Recap: Keenan Yang's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Union over Sierra

East Union lost against Sierra back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lancers fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 3-2. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Union took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-14, 24-26, 25-21, 15-13.

East Union lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Keenan Yang, who had 12 digs and six assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times he's played.

Manolo Asuncion was the offensive standout of the game as he had 20 digs and one assist.

East Union now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Sierra, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season.

East Union and Sierra are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, the Lancers and Buhach Colony will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sierra, they will challenge Lathrop at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
