Baseball Game Preview: Lake Havasu Knights vs. Kellis Cougars

The Lake Havasu Knights will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Kellis Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Lake Havasu's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Kellis' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lake Havasu is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Kellis get on the board and left with a 31-0 victory on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.

Landen Nigg looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Lake Havasu got a massive performance out of Deegan Cross, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run and seven RBI. Those seven RBI gave Cross a new career-high. Carson Lockman was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

Lake Havasu always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .745. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kellis only posted an OBP of .353.

Lake Havasu's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-5. As for Kellis, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
