Football Recap: Saint Francis Catholic Academy Wolves vs. Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons

After flying high against Gainesville Christian Community last Friday, Saint Francis Catholic Academy came back down to earth. The Wolves received a blow on Thursday as they fell 36-18 to the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Wolves, who until this contest were averaging 12 points allowed.

Despite the defeat, Saint Francis Catholic Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Carson Long rushed for 69 yards and two TDs on only five carries. Jake Long helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards.

Edward Bell had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind.

The Wolves will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, they will head out on the road to take on Alabama School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on October 4.
