The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Coachella Valley in their matchups with Desert Christian Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Coachella Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Franky Aguirre. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Israel Garcia, who scored 7 points.
Augustine Youssef went supernova for Desert Christian Academy, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Youssef has scored at least 25% of Desert Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Herling, who scored 9 points.
Coachella Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Desert Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
