Football Game Preview: Uxbridge Spartans vs. Millbury Woolies + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Uxbridge will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Millbury Woolies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Uxbridge fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Auburn on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 39-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. The Spartans were up 33-18 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the defeat, Uxbridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shea Paxton threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns. Thatcher Sweeney was Paxton's top target, picking up 140 receiving yards and one TD.

Uxbridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Sweeney.

Meanwhile, Millbury ended up a good deal behind West Boylston/Tahanto on Thursday and lost 39-20. The matchup marked the Woolies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Millbury and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Uxbridge, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Uxbridge against Millbury in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-20 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Woolies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
