Basketball Recap: Greenacres Christian Panthers vs. Abundant Life Christian Academy Eagles
The Greenacres Christian Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 90-80 victory over Abundant Life Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Greenacres Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Barthelemy led the charge by dropping a double-double on 39 points and 22 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barthelemy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Daniels, who scored 25 points along with five assists and five steals.
Despite the loss, Abundant Life Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Peyton Young scored 23 points. Enzo Lima was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Greenacres Christian pushed their record up to 6-12 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Abundant Life Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
Greenacres Christian will be playing at home against the Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches. Abundant Life Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
