Softball Recap: Field Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Field came out on top against Springfield on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Falcons walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Spartans. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Field pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Springfield, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.

Field and Springfield should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Falcons will face off against Cloverleaf at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (166 vs. 517). Meanwhile, Springfield (ranked 186th) will meet Rittman (ranked 639th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
