Basketball Game Preview: Griffith Panthers vs. Wheeler Bearcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Griffith Panthers face off against the Wheeler Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday... The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Griffith and six for Wheeler.

Griffith is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Munster on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Griffith came up short against Munster, falling 49-25. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 136th).

Meanwhile, Wheeler lost to Kouts on the road by a 56-37 margin on Thursday.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Griffith, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Griffith suffered a grim 38-16 defeat to Wheeler in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Griffith, Abby Ordonez (who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
