Basketball Recap: ED White Comes Up Short

ED White and Ponte Vedra squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but ED White had to settle for second. They lost 61-40 to the Ponte Vedra Sharks. While losing is never fun, the Commanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Sharks are ranked 72nd).

David Sanchez Barrera continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ponte Vedra, going 7 for 9 en route to 15 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Trace Westercamp, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

ED White's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Ponte Vedra, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.

ED White does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ponte Vedra, they will challenge St. Augustine on Friday. One thing working in Ponte Vedra's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.
