Basketball Recap: Oakbrook Prep Takes a Loss

Oakbrook Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Crusaders, falling 57-32. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest can attribute much of their success to Ethan Flynn, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 18 points. Flynn is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Shealy, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Oakbrook Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest, they moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

While Oakbrook Prep had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
