Softball Recap: Easton Area's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

Easton Area and Council Rock South squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Easton Area had to settle for second. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Hawks. The Rovers' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Audrey Rinda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Thalia Burns was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Easton Area's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Council Rock South, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Easton Area nor Council Rock South have any future games scheduled.
