Basketball Recap: Silver Lake Comes Up Short

Silver Lake has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hiawatha Red Hawks. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Silver Lake still got an impressive performance from Dayne Johnson, who posted 20 points along with eight assists and eight boards. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Camden Kruger, who scored eight points and seven rebounds.

Silver Lake's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 15-6. As for Hiawatha, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3.
