Soccer Recap: Central Baptist Christian Wins High-Profile Match Against Candlelight Christian Academy

Central Baptist Christian faced Candlelight Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lions walked away with a 3-1 win over the Flames. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 two weeks ago.

Ezequiel Aceve and Ethan McAlister scored all three of Central Baptist Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

The victory (which was Central Baptist Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 3-2-1. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Candlelight Christian Academy, Geneva Classical Academy, and Candlelight Christian Academy. As for the Flames, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Baptist Christian will head out to challenge Winter Haven Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Central Baptist Christian will need to watch out since Winter Haven Christian have now posted at least four goals in their last four matchups. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Geneva Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
