Softball Recap: Lincoln Plays to a Tie

Lincoln couldn't beat Pinckney on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. Neither the Railsplitters nor the Pirates could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for an 8-8 draw.

Alyssa Strickland spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

With that draw, Lincoln's record moves to 8-4-1. Meanwhile, Pinckney's record is now 18-8-1.

Coming up, Lincoln will challenge Bedford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pinckney, they will take on North Farmington in a tournament on Friday.
