Casa Grande was the clear victor by a 29-5 margin over Catalina Foothills. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Marissa Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Olivia Vance and Mackayla Wallace did most of the damage at the plate: Vance went 4-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI, while Wallace went 2-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Vance a new career-high. Jourdyn Adsuara was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-6.
Casa Grande was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .479. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catalina Foothills only posted a batting average of .348.
Meanwhile, Canyon del Oro put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Maricopa get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Dorados' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Canyon del Oro got a big performance out of Molly Herman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Taya Kelly, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Casa Grande is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. Canyon del Oro pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Casa Grande has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Canyon del Oro struggles in that department as they've averaged .537. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
