Volleyball Game Preview: Avon Park Red Devils vs. Haines City Hornets + How To Watch

The Avon Park Red Devils will head out to square off against the Haines City Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Avon Park will be strutting in after a win while Haines City will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Avon Park made easy work of Clewiston and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Avon Park was: they took every set by at least 17 points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-8, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Haines City didn't have quite enough to beat Frostproof on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Haines City took Frostproof into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 17-25, 25-27, 15-13.

Haines City's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Avon Park, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Avon Park was able to grind out a solid win over Haines City in their previous meeting back in August, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
