Basketball Recap: Bronson Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

If Cedar Key wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Bronson, they should've done a better job of containing Andrea Schuler. The Bronson Eagles secured a 42-38 W over the Cedar Key Sharks on Thursday thanks in part to Schuler, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Julianne Lampton, who put up four points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Bronson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Cedar Key, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Bronson and First Christian will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. First Christian's defense has only allowed 26.9 points per game this season, so Bronson's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cedar Key, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Saint Francis Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
