Football Recap: Suitland Piles Up the Points Against Duval

Suitland entered their tilt with DuVal on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 47-0 victory over the Tigers. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rams had established a 40-point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Suitland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Lee, who rushed for 152 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. With that strong performance, Lee is now averaging an impressive 102.3 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Boyd Jr., who threw for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Suitland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 270 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Suitland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sai'Quan Olfus and Ahmad Thomas. Olfus has been hot, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last seven times he's played. Thomas got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Suitland's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for DuVal, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Suitland will head out to take on Wise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rams 6, the Pumas 11.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for DuVal, they will welcome Northwestern at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
