Preview: Chicago Marshall Commandos vs. Foreman Hornets
Chicago Marshall has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Foreman Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chicago Marshall has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Chicago Marshall has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 54-17 win over Farragut at home. With Chicago Marshall ahead 43-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Chicago Marshall's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Janiyah Green, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, and Ja'Una Williams, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. The matchup was Green's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chamarre Scott, who scored four points along with four blocks.
Meanwhile, Foreman came up short against Kelvyn Park on Tuesday and fell 44-34. Foreman has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chicago Marshall pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Foreman, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Chicago Marshall against Foreman in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 50-7 victory. With Chicago Marshall ahead 29-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
