Baseball Recap: Flomaton's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Flomaton entered their tilt with Excel on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 7-1. This was a revenge game for the Hurricanes: when they faced off against the Panthers back in February, they had to take a 11-10 defeat.

Riley Harrison was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Kamden Martin was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Chaz Odom, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Flomaton's record is now 15-8. As for Excel, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-17.

Coming up, Flomaton will square off against Andalusia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hurricanes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Excel, they will face off against UMS-Wright Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
