Basketball Recap: Dana Hills Comes Up Short

Dana Hills was the 50-46 winner over Servite when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Dolphins lost to the Friars on the road by a 61-45 margin on Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Servite to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Schutt, who went 8-for-13 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Saiger Smith, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Dana Hills has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Servite, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Coincidentally, Dana Hills and Servite will both be playing Western the next time they take the court. The Friars will head out to face the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Dolphins will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
