Football Game Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. Southridge Spartans

Hialeah is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Southridge is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hialeah Thoroughbreds will welcome the Southridge Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Hialeah: 8, Southridge: 7.1) so any points scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Hialeah made easy work of Central and carried off a 30-6 win. Considering the Thoroughbreds have won three games by more than 23 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Miracle Washington was her usual excellent self, throwing for 108 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times she's played.

Hialeah's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Imani Devouir. Washington got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Southridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 18-14 to Coral Gables.

Southridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Hialeah, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
