Preview: Donahue Catholic Shamrocks vs. The Village School of Naples Knights

Donahue Catholic is 9-1 against the Knights since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Donahue Catholic Shamrocks will be playing in front of their home fans against The Village School of Naples Knights at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Donahue Catholic strolled past the with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Donahue Catholic.

Erling Berg and Isaac Loboda were among the main playmakers for Donahue Catholic as the former almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists and the latter scored 32 points. Berg is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jack Kadlec was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Meanwhile, The Village School of Naples had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Naples Classical by a score of 76-67. That's two games straight that The Village School of Naples has won by exactly nine points.

Donahue Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for The Village School of Naples, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Donahue Catholic and the Knights were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but the Shamrocks came up empty-handed after a 60-59 loss. Can Donahue Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
