Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Abby Nystrom and Veronica Moore Lead Bellows Falls to Victory

Bellows Falls won the last time they faced Rivendell Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bellows Falls Terriers walked away with a 42-30 win over Rivendell Academy. The Terriers pushed the score to 34-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Rivendell Academy cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Bellows Falls to victory were Veronica Moore and Abby Nystrom. Moore posted eight points and five steals, while Nystrom earned nine points. Nystrom is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nola Sciacca, who put up five points and six rebounds.

Bellows Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Bellows Falls' victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Rivendell Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Bellows Falls wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-47 loss against Hartford on the 21st. As for Rivendell Academy, they will be playing at home against White River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. White River Valley will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Rivendell Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
