Crandall and Kaufman are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Crandall Pirates will take on the Kaufman Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Crandall fell victim to Midlothian and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 456th, while the Panthers are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Kaufman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Corsicana.

Crandall has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. Kaufman's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Crandall came up short against Kaufman in their previous meeting on February 4th, falling 2-0. Can Crandall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
