Softball Recap: Wolfson Takes a Loss

Wolfson fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Christ's Church Academy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 14-13. The Wolfpack were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 17-1.

Dylan Hetrick led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Isabel Nieves was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Wolfson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season. As for Christ's Church Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Coming up, Wolfson will challenge Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolfpack's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Conquerors have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. Christ's Church Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
