Baseball Recap: McCann Tech Takes a Loss

McCann Tech dropped to 4-4 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Westfield Technical Academy Tigers, falling 15-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on April 7th.

As for Westfield Technical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2. Considering they have won five contests by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Westfield Technical Academy's part, Antonio Simpson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Simpson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lucas Cummings was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Josh Elmer was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

McCann Tech has already played their next matchup (against Pathfinder RVT), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Westfield Technical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Smith Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
