Basketball Recap: Zaria Gaskins Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Grace Christian School

Christ Chapel Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They strolled past the Grace Christian School Kings with points to spare, taking the game 48-29.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christ Chapel Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaria Gaskins, who posted 12 points and five steals. Gaskins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Dasia Smith, who made all 5 shots she took to post 11 points.

Grace Christian School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah James, who had eight points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorianna Burch, who put up ten points and four steals.

Christ Chapel Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Grace Christian School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Christ Chapel Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-55 victory against The Carmel School on the 25th. Grace Christian School has also already played their next contest, a 41-10 win against Quantico on the 25th.
