Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Warriors vs. Shadow Ridge Stallions

The Westwood Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Shadow Ridge Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Westwood has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Shadow Ridge will arrive with four straight victories.

Last Thursday, Westwood was beaten by Valley Vista 82-16. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Monsoon are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-15 win over San Luis. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 30 points or more this season.

Shadow Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Westwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Westwood against Shadow Ridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as the team secured a 65-31 win. Will Westwood repeat their success, or does Shadow Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
