Basketball Game Preview: Union Knights vs. Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels

The Union Knights will face off against the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Union has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 9.

Union lost 52-32 to Aplington-Parkersburg on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Falcons are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Gladbrook-Reinbeck against Oelwein on Friday as the squad secured a 73-38 victory. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points over those games. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
