Preview: Central Valley Falcons vs. Lassen Grizzlies

Central Valley is 1-8 against Lassen since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Central Valley Falcons will be playing at home against the Lassen Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central Valley fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 25-12 victory over Anderson on Friday.

Diego Recio continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 161 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Recio is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Vincent Vanpal, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lassen was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Yreka 47-14 on the road. With Lassen ahead 26-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Lassen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dathen Moore, who rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshon Moore, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.

Central Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Lassen, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Central Valley took a serious blow against Lassen in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 50-0. Will Central Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road?
