Football Recap: Dobie Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Dobie was feeling good fresh off their 65-6 takedown of Clear Brook last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Longhorns were beaten by the Klein Bearkats 61-28 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Bearkats are ranked 151st).

Klein's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Edward Kelly Jr, who rushed for 187 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. Kelly Jr's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Turbo Jordan Jr was another key player, rushing for 157 yards and two scores on only five carries.

Dobie's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Klein, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Dobie and Klein will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Longhorns will square off against rival Dawson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Klein is set to face off against their familiar foe Klein Cain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
