Volleyball Recap: Bela Barbosa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Georgia-Cumberland Academy over Cornerstone Prep Academy

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Georgia-Cumberland Academy can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Cornerstone Prep Academy Cougars on Tuesday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bela Barbosa, who had 14 digs. Barbosa is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gigi Barbosa, who had 14 digs.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Georgia-Cumberland Academy will head out to challenge CSTHEA at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they will square off against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
