After flying high against Blackwell last Thursday, Oklahoma Christian came back down to earth. The Saints fell 40-28 to the Jones Longhorns on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Saints, who until this game were averaging 8.56 points allowed.

Oklahoma Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Hudson Able, who picked up 193 receiving yards and three scores, and Creighton Allen, who threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Able really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 91 yards. A healthy portion of Allen's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) also went to Nash Sage, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Jones' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Acyn Hansen led the charge by throwing for 197 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes, while also rushing for 74 yards. Hunter Purvis was Hansen's top target, picking up 147 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, Oklahoma Christian fell to 8-1. As for Jones, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
